Professor Duncan French, Professor of International Law and Head of School, spoke at a workshop in Stellenbosch, South Africa, of international speakers on the recently adopted UN Global Goals and the relevance of international law. Building on research to be published later in the year in the Ethiopian Yearbook of International Law, Professor French discussed the role of customary international law, soft law and other legal approaches to the achievement of the Global Goals, otherwise known as the Sustainable Development Goals.
This is the first event for Professor French in a ten-day trip to South Africa.
